We have had Chricton Honey in our dahlia collection since purchasing the tubers from Floret at the start of our flower farming journey. It is just simply delicious. How can one not invest in such beauty? Its peachy apricot tones paired with soft buttery yellows is enough to make anyone swoon. Perfect to use in so many ways. Just extremely versital color and so attractive to the eye.
On the farming side, Chricton Honey is challenging to grow in our outdoor conditions. Stems seem to struggle with weather conditions and blooms tend to blow out, not retaining their honeycomb ball form. It seems to struggle in growth next to larger dahlia plants and is definitely a dahlia that needs extra support. However, we seem to be able to capture the tubers, but are unable to successfully gain on bloom production in open field growing exposed to the elements.
Bloom size is 3-4 inches on 3-5 ft stems.
