Dahlia Tuber FAQs

All Barnswallow Flowers, tubers are grown, cultivated and sold right off the farm. Dahlias and tubers are grown chemical free both above and below ground. Tubers are rotationally planted in different beds on a yearly basis to prevent disease transfer. In the fall the tubers are dug and divided using sanitary conditions and sanitized tools to reduce further issue of disease transfer. Tuber sales consist of single Tubers (1), and not sold in clumps. Tuber sizes vary depending on variety. We guarantee all purchased dahlia tubers with at least one visible eye that is true to its variety.

WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?

Shipping will start in April after danger of frost. Please provide your email in check out to receive shipping updates before the first shipment will start. Once your order is shipped, you will receive a message from us via Shopify, our website host.

ORDER ADD-ONS & COMBINATIONS

Orders may not be combined or added to once the order is placed. If an additional order is needed, please start the process over. We do not offer the ability to combine orders. Orders are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis through Shopify.

DO YOU SUBSTITUTE ORDERS WHEN ITEMS OVERSELL OR HAVE CROP FAILURES?

We currently do not offer substitutes. We only sell our tubers based on what is divided and placed in storage. However, sometimes in storage, tubers don't survive despite our best attempts. If your order is impacted, you will receive a full refund for the tuber variety that we cannot fulfill.

HOW TO KNOW YOUR ORDER WAS RECEIVED?

Our retail website is hosted through Shopify. Once you place an order, you will receive an automated email message from us via Shopify. If this email message is not received, your order was not successfully placed. Before sending us an email, please check your spam and trash folders in the event your email service flagged our communication.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PACKAGE IS DELAYED?

Shipping efficiency is at the mercy of the shipping provider and Mother Nature. If your package is delayed and your product quality is impacted, please send us an email with a photo of the impacted product immediately. When we submit time sensitive claims on your behalf, we only have 24-hours post delivery to submit a strong claim with most carriers.

WHAT IF I'M NOT SATISFIED WITH MY DAHLIA TUBERS?

***All of our tubers are guaranteed to have an eye and to be viable upon shipping. Open your package immediately upon receiving and verify you are happy with the condition of the tubers and that you see an eye. If you are satisfied, the tubers will be 100% your responsibility at this point. Please be aware that we are not responsible for poor growing conditions or Mother Nature. If you feel you have received unsatisfactory tubers upon opening and inspecting the package, we will replace or refund. You must send an email with photos of the tubers to barnswallowflowers@gmail.com within 24 hours of receiving and we will make sure the situation is remedied.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Tubers are available for shipping ONLY inside the United States of America.

CAN I PICK UP MY ORDER?

Yes, please make sure to choose the pick-up option during the checking out of your order. Pick ups will take place inside The Little Blue Barn farmstand at Barnswallow Flowers in Oskaloosa, Iowa. You will receive an email alerting to your pick up date and timing in April. We cannot change your order back to shipping once placed, so PLEASE CHOOSE THE PROPER OPTION AT CHECK OUT!

WHAT IF I DON'T PICK UP MY ORDER?

If you do not pick up your order within the date(s) and timing(s) offered and have not reached out to Barnswallow, we will make contact 1 time to resolve. If the product is not picked up within that time period after contact, Barnswallow reserves the right to take back ownership of your order with no refund.

DO YOU OFFER WHOLESALE PRICES?

We currently do not offer wholesale pricing for dahlia tubers.

IF I ORDER OTHER ITEMS, WILL THEY SHIP WITH THE TUBERS?

If you order other items from our site, they will ship apart from the tuber shipment that will be delayed until April.

DO YOU GUARANTEE YOUR TUBERS?

The products we are selling are living, breathing organisms and need special care once received. If you have a question or concern or would like to submit a claim on your received product, that must be submitted within 48 hours of package arrival. After the first 48 hour window has passed, no refunds will be granted nor will claims be accepted. Claims regarding viral presence, blind eyes, broken necks, non-viable tubers, etc., will not be accepted after the first 48 hours post delivery. These issues are beyond our control after the packages have left our farm and cando happen once packages are delivered, received and planted.

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG, CAN I GET A FREE REPLACEMENT NEXT SEASON?

No. We do not offer replacements. If a claim is accepted and is granted approval within 48 hours of delivery, a refund will be granted to the payment method that was originally used through Shopify. For your financial security, we are not able to change or alter the refund payment method channel. Please contact your financial institution to research and plan.

ARE YOUR DAHLIA TUBERS INSPECTED?

YES! We comply with the state laws of Iowa to have our dahlia tubers and plants inspected on a year basis. This helps us comply with shipping laws held in other states in America. If you need to see a certificate of inspection, please contact us directly at barnswallowflowers@gmail.com.

Barnswallow Flowers reserves the right to refuse service to any customer at any time. Please be aware that we are not responsible for poor growing conditions or Mother Nature based on your zone and where you decide to plant your dahlia tubers. Please do your research prior to purchase.
