What started as a science experiment grew into a love of growing and cultivating dahlias on the farm. I remember Mom calling me about dahlia flowers, that we could possibly diversify our flower farm by growing the tubers, dividing and selling to customers. This was well before we even had a greenhouse, before we knew how to grow them, before we knew it all. 

Now what seems so easy to live and work with, I'm fully realizing these past 16 years of our hard earned investment. From education to practical farming knowledge, we have successfully grown, harvest and sold this 365 days a year product. We have sought to grow only varieties that will sustainably survive outside of hoop house production, varieties that will have the best tuber production and varieties that will throw the best blooms despite our crazy Iowa weather. While chasing unicorn varieties seems to grow in fandom, I remain a practical farmer with dahlias. You can't predict nor push around mother nature. And so with our dahlias, we hope you can live more harmoniously with them from our exhaustive work in our Iowa flower fields.
