Lilium 'Salinero' is a compact Asiatic lily that reaches about 55 cm tall and 30 cm wide. Its upright stems carry glossy dark green leaves and deep red, up-facing flowers in June and July. Registered flowers measure about 19 cm across and may number up to nine on a stem. Plant the bulbs in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, with the stem base shaded. Keep the soil consistently moist without waterlogging. This low-maintenance lily works well in patio containers, flowering borders, and cutting gardens. Remove faded flowers after bloom and allow the leaves and stems to die back before cutting them down. Separate offsets after the foliage dies down.
