Hosta Pauls Glory is a large deciduous perennial forming substantial mounds about 50 to 65 cm high and 100 to 140 cm wide, with flower scapes approaching 100 cm. Broad heart-shaped leaves have corrugated surfaces and wavy edges. Their centres emerge chartreuse, mature to bright golden yellow, and fade toward creamy white, while broad irregular margins remain blue-green to deep green. Pale-lavender bell-shaped flowers appear in early and midsummer.
Grow this hardy outdoor cultivar in partial shade in fertile humus-rich chalk, clay, loam, or sandy soil that remains evenly moist while draining freely. Gentle morning or filtered light strengthens centre colour, while shelter prevents damage from drying wind. Mulch without burying crowns, water in dry periods, remove faded scapes, and divide congested plants in spring or late summer. Pauls Glory suits shaded borders, woodland gardens, edging, ground cover, banks, underplanting, cutting gardens, and outdoor containers. Slugs, snails, vine weevil, deer, and rabbits may damage it. It is harmful to pets if eaten and is not a houseplant.
