Broad, thick leaves with creamy centers and wide dark olive green margins make Hosta Night Before Christmas a bright focal point in shade. The centers turn pure white by midsummer, when pale lavender tubular flowers rise on tall scapes above a mound about 40 to 45 centimeters high and 75 to 90 centimeters wide.
Grow it in partial to full shade in fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soil. Mulch in spring, water during dry spells, and shelter the foliage from hot afternoon sun and drying winds. This hosta contains saponins and is toxic if eaten; keep it away from pets and grazing animals.
