Echinacea purpurea Green Twister brings an unusual two-tone flower display to sunny borders, prairie-style plantings, and patio containers. Large single flower heads carry rounded, lime-green ray tips that soften to pink near a bronze cone, while older blooms develop stronger carmine tones. Upright, sturdy stems hold the flowers above green, hairy leaves and reach about 3 feet tall.
Plant it in a natural group for a connected summer display, or use the strong stems for cutting. The flowers draw bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Full sun gives the best flowering, though partial shade is tolerated. Deep, humus-rich, well-drained soil and regular water during establishment support dependable growth. Remove fading flower stems to encourage more bloom.
