Airy peach-pink plumes rise above glossy dark green foliage on Astilbe x rosea Peach Blossom from late spring into early summer. This clump-forming perennial reaches about 50 to 60 cm tall and 45 to 50 cm wide, creating a soft vertical accent in shaded borders.
Grow it in fertile, humus-rich soil that stays evenly moist without remaining waterlogged. Light shade is ideal, although it can take more sun where the soil stays damp. The flowers are useful for cutting, while faded plumes may remain standing to add winter structure before the old growth is removed.
