Golden Scepter is the most luscious gold-yellow color. Not to be confused with it's rusty cousin, Ferncliff Spice. It's center is more orange red and does not have pink or purple tone qualities like FS. It's the perfect golden hour dahlia, able to fit in with a cross sections of other jewel toned colors. Great for wedding work and on the small size of the ball dahlias.
It's one of the first dahlias to bloom in zone 5B. Perfect small pop of yellow is a welcome addition to any market bouquet and our customers love them. An heirloom dahlia hybridized in 1926, it’s a very productive small ball sized dahlia, starting out at 2-1/2” and ending up closer to 1-1/2” to 2”. This dahlia keeps up the show all the way till frost without taking a break for us! Plant height 24”-36”. Perfect for landscapes and you-pick customers as well!
