Open lilac-mauve flower panicles give Thalictrum delavayi airy height in a moist, partly shaded border. Blue-green divided foliage fills the lower plant while slender upright stems carry flowers from July through September.
Plant it in humus-rich soil that stays moist and shelter the stems from strong wind. Stake stems if they begin to lean. Cut them down after flowering. Contact with the foliage may irritate the skin.
