Dense dark rose-pink flower spikes give Sidalcea Candy Girl a clear vertical line in summer borders. Wide, saucer-shaped flowers rise above shallow-lobed green foliage, placing the color above neighboring low plants. Mature plants reach about 20 to 40 inches tall and 5 to 20 inches wide.
Grow this perennial in full sun on a sheltered south- or west-facing site. Moist but well-drained soil supports healthy growth, while winter waterlogging and very dry conditions should be avoided. Acid, neutral, or alkaline soil can suit the plant when drainage remains reliable.
Place it in a flowering border, along a garden edge, or in a patio container. The flowers attract butterflies, and the plant is listed as deer resistant. Cut back after flowering to encourage fresh foliage and support a longer display.
