Sedum Mojave Jewels Sapphire forms a compact, upright mound of blue-purple foliage that carries broad rosy-pink flower heads from late summer into fall. The leaves provide color before flowering, while the small star-shaped blooms attract bees and butterflies when many earlier perennials are finishing.
Use it in a sunny border, gravel garden, container, or repeated group where its dense clumps create a dark foliage rhythm. Mature plants reach about 1 foot tall and 1½ feet wide. Space plants about 1½ feet apart in groups or along a border.
Give it average to lean, well-drained soil. Water while the roots establish, then water only during extended dry periods. Avoid rich feeding and wet soil, which can weaken stems or encourage root rot. Cut the old stems near the base before new spring growth begins.
