Sanguisorba tenuifolia var. alba Korean Snow is a tall, clump-forming perennial with dark green, fern-like pinnate leaves. Slender stems rise above the foliage and carry abundant nodding white bottlebrush flower spikes from summer into early autumn. Mature plants can reach 1.5 to 2.5 metres high while remaining relatively narrow.
Grow it in full sun or partial shade in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil. It accepts chalk, clay, loam, or sand and tolerates acid, neutral, or alkaline conditions. Incorporate organic matter at planting, keep the soil evenly moist during active growth, and support tall stems in exposed positions if needed.
This perennial suits prairie-style borders, wildlife-friendly gardens, and cut-flower plantings. The flowers attract bees, while the airy stems add late-season height and movement. Cut back in autumn, or leave the seedheads for winter structure and remove the stems in late winter or early spring.
