Pulmonaria Blue Ensign forms low ground cover beneath larger plants, with broad dark green leaves beneath compact clusters of large violet-blue spring flowers. Its flowers provide nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinating insects.
Grow it in full or partial shade in humus-rich, fertile soil that stays moist without becoming waterlogged. Remove old leaves after flowering, and divide established clumps after flowering or in fall.
