Large raspberry-pink bowls with dark purple-black basal blotches make Papaver Oriental Group Raspberry Queen a strong late-spring border plant. Bristly stems rise above divided green leaves in a compact clump, and the flowers provide nectar and pollen for pollinating insects.
Plant in full sun and humus-rich soil with good drainage. Cut spent stems to the ground and remove foliage as it fades. All plant parts and sap are poisonous if eaten.
