Brasilia is an upright Oriental lily with large, fragrant, star-shaped flowers in mid to late summer. Fresh blooms open white with soft pink-purple edges and delicate wine-red freckles, then develop a fuller orchid-pink blush as they mature.
Sturdy green stems carry spirally arranged lance-shaped leaves and several outward-facing flowers, giving borders and large containers strong vertical color. The blooms also make excellent cut flowers.
Grow the bulbs in full sun or partial shade in fertile, humus-rich soil that stays moist but drains well. Deadhead faded flowers and wait until the foliage yellows before removing stems in fall. All parts are toxic to cats if eaten; keep this lily away from cats.
