Iris sibirica Concord Crush produces ruffled, double violet-blue flowers above a clump of narrow, upright blue-green leaves. It blooms from late spring into early summer and works in moist borders, containers, rain gardens, and beside ponds or streams.
Grow it in full sun or partial shade in fertile, humus-rich soil that stays moist but drains well. Butterflies and hummingbirds visit the flowers. All parts may cause discomfort if eaten, and the plant is toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.
