Grow it in partial, full, or light shade and maintain consistently moist, well-drained soil. Apply compost around the crown in spring and avoid heavy feeding that softens the leaves. Remove faded flower stems after bloom and clear old foliage in late fall or early spring. Divide the crown as new shoots appear in spring to keep the cultivar pattern true.
