Hosta Krossa Regal is a robust deciduous perennial that forms a large, upright vase-shaped clump of thick, wavy, frosty blue-green leaves with strongly impressed veins. Exceptionally tall scapes carry lavender trumpet flowers in midsummer, adding a light vertical accent above the architectural foliage.
Grow it in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in partial or full shade, sheltered from drying winds. Water at soil level during dry periods, divide mature clumps when necessary, and remove dead foliage after autumn dormancy. It has useful slug resistance but should still be monitored for occasional damage.
