Plant it in partial, full, or light shade and maintain consistently moist, well-drained soil. Apply compost around the crown in spring and feed lightly to keep the foliage firm. Cut faded flower stems after bloom and remove collapsed leaves in late fall or early spring. Divide the clump in spring as new shoots appear to preserve the leaf pattern.
