Hosta Dream Queen forms a sturdy mound of corrugated, broadly ovate blue-green leaves, each marked by an irregular golden yellow center that can mellow toward cream. Upright stems carry loose clusters of near-white tubular flowers with faint pale-purple streaks in summer.
Grow it in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in partial or full shade, sheltered from cold, drying winds. It makes a dramatic ground-cover group and also performs well in shaded borders or containers. Divide in early spring or late summer, mulch in spring, and water during dry spells. This plant can be toxic to pets if eaten, so keep plant material out of their reach.
