Hosta Blue Mouse Ears forms compact mounds of rounded blue-green leaves, bringing a low layer of foliage to shaded border fronts, edging, and containers. Pale purple, darker-striped bell-shaped flowers rise just above the leaves in summer.
Grow it in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in partial or full shade. Divide established clumps in early spring or late summer, clear dead foliage at the end of the growing season, and keep it away from dogs, cats, and horses.
