Hosta Big Daddy is a large deciduous herbaceous perennial forming a broad mound of thick, rounded, deeply puckered and cupped leaves. The glaucous blue foliage gradually becomes greener as summer advances, while upright blue-green scapes carry bell-shaped white to pale lavender flowers.
Grow it in fertile, humus-rich, evenly moist but well-drained soil in partial to full shade, sheltered from dry winds. Consistent moisture preserves its substantial foliage and form. All parts are toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.
