Hemerocallis Strawberry Candy is a tetraploid, clump-forming herbaceous perennial that reaches about 60 to 70 cm high and spreads 45 to 60 cm. Arching strap-shaped green leaves form a dense fountain around upright branched scapes. From early to midsummer, with later rebloom where conditions are suitable, single ruffled flowers open in a strawberry-pink blend. A clear rose-red eyezone and matching picotee edging surround a golden to green throat. Each bloom is about 11 cm across and remains open for an extended day, while successive buds maintain the display. The cultivar is semi-evergreen and valued for reliable colour, repeated flowering, and compact form.

Grow Strawberry Candy in full sun in fertile acidic, neutral, or alkaline soil that remains moist but drains freely. Water consistently from spring through summer and do not allow the root zone to dry during flowering. Divide clumps in early spring or autumn. Deadhead spent blooms and remove seedpods to direct energy toward rebloom, then cut finished scapes near the base. Gall midge, aphids, spider mites, thrips, slugs, snails, rust, leaf streak, bacterial rot, and crown rot are possible problems. All plant parts are highly toxic to cats, so keep garden plants and cut flowers inaccessible to them.
