Hemerocallis Stella de Oro is a compact, deciduous, clump-forming daylily approximately 23–30 cm high and wide. Arching narrow strap-shaped leaves form a dense green mound, while leafless scapes carry fragrant rounded golden to canary-yellow single flowers about 7 cm across, each with slightly ruffled edges and a subtly deeper throat.
Grow it in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun for best flowering, though light partial shade is tolerated. Individual flowers last about one day, but successive buds and reliable rebloom create a long display from late spring through summer. Deadhead regularly, water deeply during dry spells, and divide crowded clumps every few years.
