Large golden-orange blooms with dark red edges and pale green throats make Hemerocallis Mauna Loa easy to recognize in early to midsummer. The flowers rise above a compact clump of arching, strap-like green leaves, fitting mixed borders, ground-cover groups, or large patio containers.
Grow it in full sun or partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Divide the clump in early spring or early fall, remove finished flower stems, and clear dead foliage as needed. This plant is toxic to cats.
