Geranium Ann Folkard is an accepted hybrid cranesbill that forms trailing, spreading mounds about 1 to 2 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. Deeply cut, five-lobed leaves emerge golden-green and darken toward green. Magenta-purple flowers with black eyes and veins open from June through September.
Grow it in full sun or partial shade in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Its broad trailing growth suits ground cover, border fronts, cottage gardens, and underplanting. The flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Remove flowered stems and old leaves after bloom to encourage fresh growth.
