Epimedium versicolor Sulphureum spreads into low ground cover for shaded garden areas. Red-tinted spring leaves mature to green and often turn red again in fall. Airy racemes of primrose-yellow flowers rise above the foliage in spring.
Plant it in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial or full shade. Water during establishment; older clumps tolerate drier soil. Divide after flowering or in fall.
