Epimedium Pretty in Pink forms a broad clump for shaded borders and ground-cover planting. In spring, upright stems carry clusters of pink-spurred flowers with raspberry centers above newly emerging foliage patterned in raspberry and green.
The clump grows about 18 inches tall and can spread to 3 feet. Plant it in partial to full shade, in acidic to neutral soil that drains well. Water regularly while it establishes; mature plants tolerate dry shade under trees.
Late-winter removal of old foliage clears the way for new leaves and flower stems. Deer and rabbits usually leave the foliage alone.
