Echinacea purpurea Magnus is a vigorous classic coneflower selected for large, open flowerheads. Broad, overlapping deep reddish-pink rays are held almost horizontally around prominent orange-brown cones on sturdy upright stems from midsummer into autumn.
This award-winning cultivar suits sunny borders, prairie-style planting, wildlife gardens, containers, and cutting. Grow it in humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun and protect the crown from excessive winter wet. Established clumps tolerate dry conditions. Deadhead for further bloom, or retain selected seedheads for birds and winter structure.
Echinacea products may cause allergic reactions, including rashes in some children.
