Dicentra Luxuriant is a compact rhizomatous perennial forming soft mounds of finely divided blue-gray foliage. Arching stems carry pendent cherry-red heart-shaped flowers from late spring, often continuing through summer in cooler conditions and returning as weather moderates. Grow it outdoors in fertile, humus-rich, moist but freely drained neutral to alkaline soil in partial shade; sun is suitable where moisture remains reliable. Water during dry periods, prevent winter waterlogging and divide established clumps when renewal is needed. All parts may upset the stomach if eaten and foliage can irritate sensitive skin.
