Dahlia Park Princess is a compact tuberous perennial forming bushy clumps approximately 60 cm tall and 40 to 50 cm wide. Upright branched Green stems carry Compound Pinnate Opposite leaves with Ovate Serrate leaflets and clear Pinnate venation.
From July through October, sturdy stems carry fully double Pink Cactus Flower heads approximately 10 to 15 cm across. Narrow pointed florets roll backward to create the characteristic spiky form, while restrained Cream and Yellow glimpses may appear near developed centers. Mixed buds and flowering phases extend the display.
Grow in full sun in fertile humus-rich Loam with good drainage and consistent medium moisture. Plant tubers after frost risk has passed, provide airflow, and support stems where exposed to wind or heavy rain. Deadhead regularly and avoid waterlogging.
Use Park Princess in sunny cottage borders, cutting gardens, containers, seasonal mass planting, or as a compact focal plant. Divide tubers with a viable growth eye or take basal cuttings to preserve the cultivar. Dahlia may irritate sensitive skin, and eaten plant material may upset dogs or cats.
