Dahlia Fascination is a tuberous perennial valued for dramatic dark bronze-purple foliage and broad semi-double flowerheads. The bushy, upright clump reaches about 60–75 cm high and 40–50 cm wide, making it useful in sunny mixed borders and large containers. Strong dark stems carry pinnately divided leaves that create contrast from planting time until autumn.
From summer into autumn, purplish-pink florets form open, peony-style flowerheads up to about 16 cm across around a dark red-brown disk. Regular removal of aging blooms encourages new buds and extends the display. The accessible centres can also provide forage for visiting insects.
Grow in full sun, fertile humus-rich soil and reliable drainage. Water during dry periods, feed through active growth and support stems discreetly where wind exposure is possible. In colder districts, lift tubers after the top growth declines and store them dry and protected until replanting after the risk of frost has passed.
