Crocosmia × crocosmiiflora Babylon is a clump-forming cormous perennial selected for fiery midsummer color.
Fans of pleated sword-shaped green leaves support graceful arching spikes of orange-red flowers with mahogany eyes and golden throats.
The blooms attract pollinators and make long-lasting cut flowers from July into early autumn.
Plant in sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil, mulch in cold regions, and divide congested corms in spring.
