Campanula Sarastro is a compact clump-forming perennial with dense green foliage and sturdy leafy stems carrying unusually large, elongated, nodding bells in deep violet-blue. It flowers from early to late summer and spreads moderately without behaving like a vigorous runner.
Grow it in fertile, neutral to alkaline, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Maintain regular moisture without winter wet, cut stems back after flowering, and divide established clumps when needed. Strong stems usually remain self-supporting, and the flowers are valuable to pollinators and for cutting.
