Astilbe Chinensis Vision In Red is the database form of the accepted cultivar Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in Red'; the submitted plural form Astilbe 'Visions in Red' is an RHS-listed synonym. This Saxifragaceae cultivar is a robust Clump-former with an Upright shape, dark Green divided foliage, and dark Purple stems and petioles. Exact institutional and patent records place documented plants approximately 45-70 cm tall and 30-65 cm wide.

Dense, short Panicles carry thousands of tiny Single flowers during June and July. Patent and government trial descriptions record Purple to dark violet flowers, while botanical-garden profiles describe them as dark purplish Red; both controlled colors are therefore retained. The patent records a sweet, pleasant fragrance, Doubly Serrate Ovate to Elliptic leaflets in an Alternate compound arrangement, and tiny light Brown botanical seed. That seed is not consumer fruit, so all fruit and harvest fields remain blank.

Grow in Full sun only where the soil stays moist, or use Partial shade to Full shade. Provide fertile, humus-rich Clay or Loam that is Moist but Well Drained or consistently damp, and do not allow it to dry out. Space plants about 50 cm apart, mulch to conserve moisture, and divide established clumps every three to four years. The flowers support pollinators and work well in shaded borders, outdoor containers, and cut-flower plantings; institutional profiles also document resistance to deer and rabbits.
