Astilbe chinensis Ivory Pearls produces creamy ivory plume-like flowers on sturdy upright stems above a lush mound of dark green foliage. The strong clumping plant flowers in mid to late summer and brings pale structure to shaded borders.
Plant it in partial or full shade in rich soil that remains evenly moist but drains well. Water during dry periods, mulch to conserve moisture, and divide older clumps every few years. Its tall stems also provide useful cut or dried flowers.
