Aconitum cammarum Bicolor is a tall columnar perennial with glossy deeply divided dark green leaves and widely branched spikes of hooded white flowers sharply edged in rich violet-blue.
Grow it in deep, cool, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in partial shade or full sun. Add spring compost or organic fertilizer, mulch to conserve moisture, water during dry spells, and cut dead stems back in autumn.
All parts are highly toxic if eaten and harmful through skin contact, so wear protective gloves whenever handling the plant.
