Trollius cultorum Alabaster is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial with deeply divided green leaves and long stems carrying pale yellow, bowl-shaped flowers from late spring into early summer. Its upright growth brings soft color to moist borders, bog gardens, and pond edges, while the blooms draw bees and other pollinators.
Plant it in full sun or partial shade in deep clay or loam that stays consistently moist and does not dry out. Cut the stems back hard after flowering and apply balanced liquid fertilizer to encourage further blooms. Divide established clumps in spring when propagation is needed.
