It suits woodland gardens, shaded borders, mass planting, underplanting, outdoor containers, and specimen positions. Slugs, snails, vine weevil, deer, Hosta Virus X, foliar nematodes, crown rot, and leaf spot are possible problems. The plant contains saponins and should not be eaten by pets.
