Upright scapes about 50 to 60 cm tall carry loose clusters of lavender flowers in July and August.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGrow it in partial or full shade in fertile, humus-rich soil that remains evenly moist but drains freely. Shelter the mound from drying winds, mulch annually, and water during prolonged dry periods. It suits shaded borders, woodland planting, containers and underplanting, but needs protection from slugs and snails.
